Requirements:   Yonkyu-(Purple belt) Senior Rank

 

1.         Be an active member of a PCMA registered club, at least 16 years old.

2.         Mimimum time in grade: 48 hours instruction since last promotion, 3 months,  (         ) competition points.

3.         Know the following information:

  a.  Who was the founder of Judo?    Jigoro Kano

  b.  What is the name of the school he founded?   Kodokan

  c.  What is the date of the founding of Kodokan Judo?   1882

  d.  What was unarmed combat called in Japan before Judo?  Jujitsu

  e.  How long had unarmed combat martial arts been practiced in Japan?  600-1000 years
