Requirements:   Shodan- (Black belt, one red stripe)  Senior Rank

 

1.         Be an active member of a PCMA registered club /  at least 16 years of age.

Shodan        All previous requirements plus Nage-No-Kata

 

Nidan  (Black belt, 2 red stripes)  First 8 techniques of Shimmeisho No Waza

      a. Morote Gari, Kuchiki Taoshi, Kibisu Gaeshi, Uchi Mata Sukashi, Dakiage, Tsubame gaeshi,

          O Soto Gaeshi, O Uchi Gaeshi.

 

Sandan  (Black belt, 3 red stripes)  Second 9 Techniques of the Shimmeisho No Waza

       a.  Ko Uchi Gaeshi, Hane Goshi Gaeshi, Harai Goshi Gaeshi, Uchi Mata Gaeshi, Kani Basami

            Kawazu Gake, O Soto Makikomi, Uchi Mata Makikomi, Harai Makikomi

 

Yodan  (Black and red paneled belt)  All previous requirements + the eight throws excluded in the 1920

                                                             revision of the Gokyo No Waza (minimum age of 25)

       a. Obi Otoshi, Daki Wakare, Hikikomi Gaeshi, O Soto Otoshi, Tawara Gaeshi, Uchi Makikomi,

           Seoi Otoshi, and Yama Arashi.

 

Godan  (Black and red paneled belt)  All previous requirements + Kata of Choice (Minimum age: 30)

 

Rokyudan and above (Red and White Paneled belt)  Based on TEACHING and SERVICE to Yudo (+kata

                                     of choice)(minimum age: 36 for 6th, 43 for 7th, 51 for 8th and 60 for 9th.
