Yudo as well as Judo participants must earn points to attain rank, this is to ensure that they engage in competitions of some sort as they progress through the ranks. For everyone attending tournaments or events that score points, insure that if you are studying Yudo or Judo that you inform your instructor and that you keep up with the points earned, including the name, location and date of the event. If a victory is to be used for promotional purposes, make sure you record your opponents name and rank.
Points and how they are earned (this is currently subject to change)
Points are earned by either entering in competition or by service to the sport and art of YUDO. Points can also be earned by service to the organization and by participating in PCMA sponsored events.
.5 (1/2 point events): local tournaments (less than 2 clubs entered) placing first in tournaments with less than 3 people entered in the division officiating in a local event 1/2 point per victory in a local event no more than 2 points per day can be earned at a local event assistant instructor in a PCMA registered club
1 point events: Tournaments with more than 2 clubs entered, more than 5 people in the division Placing in the top three (including tie for third) in tournament (providing the student has at least one victory). Officiating at an event with more than two clubs entered One point per victory in a 1 point tournament One point for winning kata competition n 1 point event (minimum of 3 teams entered) Hosting / teaching at a PCMA clinic/tournament (per 1/2 day). Instructing in a PCMA registered club No more than 5 points per day can be earned in a 1 point event
